HOW IT WORKS
What does this treatment involve?
A solution is applied to teeth, and a plastic mouthpiece is inserted to retract your cheeks. Safety goggles are applied to your eyes and a protective bib is placed on your chest.
An advanced LED light will then be directed at teeth which is designed to reduce yellow staining and return teeth to their earlier, natural colour.
Does the treatment lighten crowns?
No, only natural teeth will be affected. Crowns, fillings and other dental work will remain the same colour, although some surface stains may be removed.
It is important to note that your teeth will not go lighter or whiter than their natural colour.
People with super white teeth (white as paper) have their natural teeth capped with false veneers to achieve this super white appearance. Therefore, your teeth will appear naturally brighter, but not over the top white.
What does the aftercare involve?
Clients should not eat or drink dark, staining substances for 24 hours after the session. These include coffee, tea, red wine and coke; smoking should also be avoided.
Teeth are quite porous following a teeth whitening session, which makes them more prone to staining within the first 24 hours of a session.
Therefore, to ensure long term results, we recommend a "clear/white food diet". Basically, anything that can stain a white T-Shirt will also stain your teeth within the first 24 hours of a teeth whitening session.
Examples:
-instead of red wine, drink white wine.
-add extra milk in your coffee/tea and drink it through a straw
HOME MAINTENANCE
We love using whitening toothpaste twice a day.
You can also purchase a whitening gel pen to take home and apply it to your teeth at night after brushing for the first 3 nights after your teeth whitening session.
The whitening gel pen should also be used before going out to an event where photos will be taken, as it will give your teeth a fresh boost of brightness.
